Abstracts

In order to submit an abstract for the Workshop, just visit the Abstract Submission section where a submission form is available (NEW deadline 31st January 2011). All submissions will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee and selected for oral or poster presentation. Abstract acceptance by the Scientific Committee will be communicated to the Authors on 15th February 2011. At least one author of an accepted abstract (oral or poster) should be registered by 15th March 2011, to ensure that we have a reliable programme for all registrants.

Guidelines for oral presentations

Invited speakers are limited to 30 minutes (25 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions and discussions). All other oral presentations are limited to 15 minutes (12 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for questions). The Chairpersons of the Section will keep the schedule on time. All oral presentations will be in English. No simultaneous translation will be provided. At the end of each thematic section 30 minutes of general Discussion and Conclusions is scheduled.

Oral presentation file must be compatible to Microsoft PowerPoint. A PC is installed in the lecture room with Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 and 2007 (PPT and PPTX formats are acceptable). Other presentation file format should be checked in advance by the Authors.

Authors are kindly invited to deliver their presentation file at the lecture room at least one day before the presentation scheduled time. Authors presenting in the morning of the first day can deliver their presentation from 8:30 to 9:00. In any case, the loading of presentations during the sessions will not be possible.

Please have your presentation file saved under the file name of your section and oral number followed by your family name (for example, Section 1-O29-Sebastiani) to a USB flash memory. To guarantee a smooth transition between presentations, please review your presentation on the workshop computer. Please note that it will not be possible for presenters to connect their own PC to the projection system in the lecture room.

 

Guidelines for poster presentations

Size: 120 cm (height) X 90 cm (width)
Please underline the presenter's name at the workshop

Setup: All posters will be displayed on the designated poster boards at the workshop throughout the entire meeting (Sunday 8th May 2011 from 18:00 - Wednesday 11th May 2011 up to 18:00).

Presentations: Monday 9th May 2011, at least one of the authors is expected to be at the assigned poster during the designated poster visit from 17:00-18:00 and also from 18:00-19:30 at the Poster session and discussion consisting in 5 minutes oral presentation in front of each poster.

 

ISHS Acta Horticulturae (http://www.actahort.org/)
Authors of accepted contributions presented orally or as poster at the Symposium will be expected to submit a complete manuscript for publication. Each paper will be subjected by peer review by at least two members of the scientific committee and one of the three Editors. Accepted paper will be published in Acta Horticulturae by the International Society for Horticultural Science. All registered participants will receive a copy of the Acta Horticulturae volume.

Maximum length of manuscripts for all except invited speakers is 8 pages. Maximum length of manuscripts for invited speakers is 16 pages.

Manuscripts must be prepared according to the Acta Horticulturae authors guidelines (http://www.ishs.org/wri/pap1.htm) and delivered at workshop registration desk in .DOC or .DOCX format together with a paper copy.
